Off With Their Heads' new album Be Good is available now. “All the other records were about moping around and feeling sorry for yourself,” says frontman Ryan Young. “This one is less about feeling sorry for yourself and more about accepting how goddamn miserable you are.” Young and the band members—bassist Robbie Smartwood, guitarist John Polydoros, and new drummer Kyle Manning.

It's unique in that the entire song follows a simple chord pattern repeated over and over again throughout while each of the verses are constructed of a wandering and indiscriminate length.
The purpose of the verses is to tell a story, not to fit within the bounds of a predetermined set of measures. Off With Their Heads - Theme Song flexi (Flexi-disc) it was a longer story, it would have had longer verses.
If it was a shorter story, it would have had shorter verses. In fact, earlier takes of the song had different lengths of second verses since Paul hadn't quite decided on the exact story yet.
In any event, a ten measure introduction is heard first which consists of two measures of the first chord to get the ball rolling and then two repeats of the four-chord pattern with Paul's spoken word explanation of who Rocky is, where he came from, and then setting the stage for the drama that was to unfold. The only instrumentation in this introduction is Paul on acoustic guitar and, briefly in the tenth measure, John blowing a few notes on harmonica. Then comes the first verse, which is a whopping 28 measures long, since he has quite a detailed story to tell.
An eight measure refrain then occurs with Ringo taking the song into double-time with his drum playing and George Martin dangerously sitting in on the saloon piano while bullets are flying. After a brief drum break from Ringo at the end of the eighth measure, he drops the tempo back as before so Paul can narrate the rest of the story in the second verse, which is sixteen measures long. George Martin even stops playing to witness what happens next, while John drops his harmonica and jumps on a nearby accordian for the first eight measures.
Somehow, Off With Their Heads - Theme Song flexi (Flexi-disc), our hero will carry on, thanks to the healing power of God's word!
A chorus of three men harmonize in the twelfth through sixteenth measures as an indication of Rocky's saved soul. In jubilation, George Martin jumps back on the piano stool to reprise his role in the previous Off With Their Heads - Theme Song flexi (Flexi-disc) along with the same instrumentation and vocalization as heard before. Paul's pet project appears to have been well received by all involved, everyone giving it their all except for George, unfortunately, who pretty much sat out for the entire proceedings.
This sort of thing was usually a little too hokey for John but, possibly because of Yoko's presence in the studio, he showed himself a Off With Their Heads - Theme Song flexi (Flexi-disc) player and put in a spirited performance. Of course, George Martin, the prolific pianist, was up for the task and created the perfect saloon atmosphere. And three cheers to Ringo, as usual, for doing what he always did best.
American Releases. November 25th,was the American release date for the double-album " The Beatles ," most commonly known as the " White Album. The mono version of the album on vinyl wasn't released in the U. Fans then got to hear the laid-back fun approach The Beatles took when recording the song. Various editions of the " White Album " were released on November 9th, to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of its original release.
The "Deluxe" Off With Their Heads - Theme Song flexi (Flexi-disc), which was made available in a 3CD set and a limited edition gram 4LP vinyl set, contained the newly created Giles Martin mix of the " White Album " as well as the complete set of Esher demos that The Beatles recorded in late May of Live Performances.
Paul appears not to have been proud enough of the song to include it in a set list for any of his tours. One thing that can be said about Paul McCartney as a composeer is that he always was true to himself. He was a very diverse songwriter who delivered material in a variety of styles. The other Beatles may have rolled their eyes whenever he offered up something away from the format they thought the group should focus on, but this didn't deter Paul one bit.
After the group split up, he of course had free reign to go in whatever direction he wanted to. But then again, he always did anyway. He may have been most prominently known for his ballads but his rockers could be blisteringly heavy.
He prided himself on tackling any genre of music he set his mind to. And if he wants to write a cowboy song, dag nabbit, we will! Song Summary. Written and compiled by Dave Rybaczewski. They were truly durable, too, unlike the 78rpm shellac discs which could easily fracture into pieces if dropped from, say, a chair, or vinyl 45s which, while stronger than shellac pressings, could also be snapped by accident.
For one thing, inch or even inch LPs were hard to make because flexis were so lightweight: a typical flexi disc single or EP would usually weigh between 4.
The paper or card sleeves that they came in would often be heavier than this, at around 9g. Compare that with the 40g weight of a typical vinyl single—or the g of many 78rpm shellac singles—and you see how much raw material was being saved. In normal circumstances there were only two ways out of this: play the flexi while it was on top of a normal vinyl single, or place a coin or two somewhere near the centre of the disc—some later Soundsheet pressings actually contained a circle marked out for where the coin, or coins, should best be placed.
Sometimes you even had to try both tricks at the same time to get a record to play. There were two other, more insoluble, problems with this new super-thin record. First, although to less discerning ears the sound quality might have appeared a close rival to standard vinyl on the first few plays, flexis never had the complete frequency range of full-weight 45s, or 7.
Professional use in, say, a radio station was out of the question unless there were literally no other versions of the track in question. The other irritant was the fact that flexis faded faster: their shallower, moulded grooves meant increased surface noise, while scratches appeared more quickly and came through louder, so skipping and jumping soon became a major problem for any disc that got more than few plays.
A typical example came when The Beatles sent out flexi discs to their fan club in ; the one below features a ridiculous singalong and some personal messages to their followers.
The FLEXI is a phonograph record made of a thin, flexible vinyl (or paper) sheet with a molded-in spiral stylus groove, and is designed to be playable on a normal phonograph turntable.
