Saturday Night - Suede - Rising Camp (CD)

30.08.2019

sioprovcabradeperfscormarcodenmenssol.co While they aren't the first to do so, Camp Lo's Sonny Cheeba and Geechie Suede make a direct appeal from hip-hop's current generation back to the blaxploitation era on Uptown Saturday Night, which recrafts the up-tempo, party atmosphere of the swinging s, resplendent in the musical and cultural iconography of Harlem- and Bronx-style blaxploitation/5(95). May 26,  · Label: Demon Music Group - SUEDEBOX,Edsel Records - SUEDEBOX • Format: Box Set Compilation 8x, CD Card Wallets • Country: UK & Europe • Genre: Rock, Pop • /5(9). The late 90s classic from Sonny Cheeba & Geechi Suede –Camp Lo's benchmark Uptown Saturday Night! Certainly one of the finer hip hop LPs of '97, when we can return to over and over again, with great singles and stellar album tracks alike, such as "Luchin AKA This Is It", "Coolie High" and "Black Nostaljack AKA Come On".Brand: Profile (Label).

What could Suede offer to their faithful now that, well into their sober 40s, they no longer represent any of these things? For BloodsportsSaturday Night - Suede - Rising Camp (CD), their plan is not to simply recapture their past, but imagine an alternate course for it. But where Bowie spends much of The Next Day sardonically addressing his extended absence and his own mortality, Andrerson hurtles himself into Bloodsports with the stern-faced intent of someone who is grateful to have been granted a second chance and determined not to let it go to waste.

This is not the place to go to indulge your student-disco nostalgia; rather than try to swagger back onto the scene and try to out-snort men half their age, Suede shrewdly draw our attention to those youthful indiscretions-- ego, insecurity, obsession-- that we never seem to outgrow. Suede IS Britpop. Merging melody, metrosexuality, and and nifty guitar work Suede is a band with infectious music.

Hopefully it will motivate you to explore the individual disks. There are so many wonderful songs here that to pick out 2 or 3 favorites is impossible. Suede has been compared to a Morrissey-Bowie hybrid. I'm not sure that is correct. Suede's lyrics are too superficial to compare to Morrissey and Brett Anderson's vocals are not as Cockney as early Bowie. But Suede is the British torch bearer of the 90s. If you had to choose only one Britpop disc "Singles' would be it.

Suede's sound is quite diverse. There are instances of power pop, metal, soft ballads, and just plain camp. Suede was the response and antidote to the boring and languid Grunge. Blur, Oasis, Catatonia, etc See all reviews from Saturday Night - Suede - Rising Camp (CD) United States. Top international reviews. Having seen suede a few times in the ,s and sort of drifting in and out of there music i was saddened when i heard they were calling it a day and managed to see them at Bristol on the final tour.

Actually seeing the band with their own show and not at a festival certainly changed my view on their music. Inovators of a differant sound, writing style and performance they most certainly were. Dissapointing they were not. I have seen hundreds of shows from many differant bands over the years and this cd is a great representation of Suede the band and a great advert for british music of the ,s and still sounds amazingly fresh.

Was going though so older CD's and re-discovered Suede so bought the singles and love them, took me back years play in my car all the time. Contains all my favourites and some I had not heard before. I am from the Britpop era, and Suede opitomise that era perfectly, with their style of writing, their attitude and their fashion.

As became the trend at the start of the s, bands released their singles collections as a way of getting new fans. For me, this is the perfect way to get all those classic tracks that I never bought at the time. There is not a weak track on here, it stands up after nearly the best part of 20 years. Very nice CD, good sounds produced from this band. Arrived fairly quickly and factory sealed as described.

This album without a doubt gets 5 stars; created in a time where artists cared about abstract, intelligible, meaningful, and heartfelt lyrics, and in a time where producers created tracks with soulful baselines and rhythms, real instruments, and an inspiration with a passion to create a unique classic and not just some fillers to preoccupy an album's space.

This album represents real Hip Hop, not that flip flop these Millennials are being duped into accepting as real music. There are a few good acts out today, that also represent real hip hop but it seems that real hip hop is now so the back on the rise where new artists are referring back to the standards which came from the 90s. The tracks on this album are varied and range from serious, to street life, to abstract points of view, to party going, to know of self, to love, to sex, and just plain ole driving down the street with attention-grabbing vibrations.

If you are a real fan of hip-hop this album is a must have for your collection. The tracks are gritty and grimy, and do not have a commercial sound as found on the radio stations. The success of this album was perpetuated by Ada band for real hip hop even to this day though this album is 20 years old. It was released in and reissued again in due to popularity. The Bronx is where hip-hop started.

I lived one block off of Sedgwick Ave. I have been blessed to have been born in the 70s where I was privileged to experience hip hop from its very beginnings to its current situation. Trust me when I say this album is worth every penny weather you buy a used CD like I did or if you could afford to buy a brand new one for much more.

Although I did not receive my CD in the time frame that I expected considering the vendor is only about 45 minutes away from me, and did not mail out the CD within 24 hours as statedonce I popped the CD in and listened to it, all is truly well! Go ahead and buy this album, you will own a piece of real hip hop Cheeba said:"Thanks to all the cats that laugh at my style and then copy!!!

Camp Lo's debut and one of the last great dispatches from hip-hop's jazzy '90s, Coolie High traffics in post-Tribe jazz samples and lyrics that are smart without being self-consciously intelligent (think Jay Dee-era Slum Village). Sonny and Geechie Suede have a quick-fire delivery that contrasts nicely with the music's spacious productions, and their '70s-stylized tales make this perfect music.
